We Make a Data Center a Data Center: AI-Ready White Space Fit Out in Dallas, TX

Compu Dynamics Data Center White Space Fit Out

At the edge of what’s next, infrastructure makes all the difference. Compu Dynamics recently completed a 30,000 sq. ft. / 13.5MW data center white space fit out for a major enterprise cloud provider inside a hyperscale facility in the suburbs of Dallas, TX. Designed from the ground up to support high-performance computing and liquid-cooled AI workloads, this project is a showcase of what AI-ready infrastructure looks like in practice.

What Was Needed:
Our client, one of the top data center companies delivering advanced digital infrastructure solutions globally, was scaling fast and needed a trusted turnkey partner with proven experience and expertise to bring a powered shell to life. The scope called for a fully integrated data center white space fit out, including high-density electrical systems, advanced liquid cooling, and tight coordination across multiple vendors. This wasn’t just about filling space with racks. It was about enabling compute at scale, with infrastructure ready for the demands of AI and HPC.

Our Approach to the White Space Fit Out:
As the single point of contact, Compu Dynamics managed the entire lifecycle—from intake of owner-furnished equipment to full implementation and final commissioning. We designed and installed a resilient, high-capacity power architecture that included parallel and dual-input Remote Power Panels (RPPs), 60-amp power whips, overhead ladder trays, and a fully grounded conveyance system to support dense compute environments.

To enable peak thermal performance, Compu Dynamics deployed a robust liquid cooling backbone featuring Motivair Coolant Distribution Units (CDUs), precision control valves, flow meters, and flexible hose kits tailored for Rear Door Heat Exchangers (RDHx). This cooling infrastructure was purpose-built for AI and HPC workloads, engineered to handle the intense thermal demands of GPU-heavy compute clusters.

Airflow zoning was optimized using OFCI Gordon partition walls and floor tile grommets, enabling strategic hot aisle containment and airflow management across the white space. Every element—from cable routing to rack-level grounding—was executed with precision, safety, and long-term serviceability in mind.

With a cooling backbone designed for RDHx, high-density power distribution, and airflow control dialed to exact spec, this data center white space fit out is optimized for the kind of thermal and computational intensity modern AI infrastructure demands.

The Result:
Delivered on time, on budget, and ready for immediate operation, the once-empty white space is now a fully commissioned, liquid-cooled, AI-capable data environment supporting mission-critical cloud and compute workloads. It’s more than infrastructure—it’s infrastructure built with intention.

The Takeaway:
This project wasn’t just about power and pipes — it was about transforming raw space into a strategic digital engine. That’s what Compu Dynamics does best. We don’t just build out white space — we design, deliver, and future-proof the next generation of compute environments. When it comes to data center white space fit outs, we make a data center a data center.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

A data center white space fit out is the process of transforming empty or unfinished data hall space—also called white space—into a fully functional data center environment. This includes installing power distribution, cooling systems, cable management, and physical infrastructure to support IT equipment.

AI and HPC workloads generate high thermal loads due to dense, powerful computing hardware. Liquid cooling systems, such as rear door heat exchangers (RDHx) connected to coolant distribution units (CDUs), efficiently remove heat, maintaining performance and reliability.

Compu Dynamics offers end-to-end project management as a single point of contact, over two decades of expertise in power, cooling, and network infrastructure, and experience delivering projects on time and on budget — all tailored specifically for colocation, hyperscale, enterprise, and neocloud clients.

In an air-cooled or hybrid data center environment, effective airflow zoning and containment—using tools like partition walls and floor tile grommets—reduces energy waste by directing cooling where it's needed most, boosting system efficiency and protecting sensitive equipment.
